But if it’s the first time, you will need to find out whether or not the meter has been activated. To activate your meter, you need to reach out to your electricity company.
- Communication problems between the CIU) and your meter can also cause the device to reject your tokens. This is something that we have already discussed when talking about Error 30 on prepaid meters.
- Should your meter be in Temper Mode, you will also get the reject error when trying to load your token. This problem can only be resolved by reaching out to your provide. They will advise you on the way forward.

What if you are still unable to load your token?
Those are the steps to deal with the reject error on a prepaid electricity meter. In most instances, the solutions that are given above will work.
However, there are instances where the solutions outlined here will fail. That can be a problem because without the ability to load new tokens, you will soon run out and electricity will be switched off in your home.
